About this Award

This award encourages students to submit papers to the Australian Congress on Applied Mechanics, held approximately every two years.

Presentation of the Award

Eligibility Criteria

The submitted papers are assessed on:

  • relevance of problem for Applied Mechanics community;
  • significance of contribution;
  • demonstration of critical insight;
  • stucture of the paper;
  • quality of content;
  • quality of visuals; and
  • quality of writing

Terms and Conditions

To be eligible for the award, the student must be the primary author (first author) in the full paper and the paper must be presented at the congress by the author.

Submission Guidelines

You must provide the following:

  • Project Thesis/Report
  • Signed statement to the effect that the work reported in the thesis is entirely your own (except where specifically stated otherwise)
  • Statement of endorsement by Head of Department
  • Nominee’s current CV including employment history and achievements (Maximum 2 pages)
  • Nominee’s current Biographical Information
  • Nominee’s portrait photo

Presentation of the Award

The award will be presented at the Australian Congress on Applied Mechanics. There will be a monetary prize for first, second and third, as well as a framed certificate.
