Brian commenced his engineering career as an indentured apprentice electrical craftsman with the National Coal Board, winning the Apprentice of the Year Award for the North East Region and graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering and a Master’s Degree in Technology Management.

As an Electrical Engineer, he has served in various positions in Electricity Generation and Distribution Industry including working in Coal, Gas and Nuclear Power Stations.

Progressed through management roles to senior and executive management positions within Operations, Projects, Engineering and People management electricity supply and rail industries.

Currently holds the position of ARTC Interstate Networks, General Manager Asset Management, responsible for the safe and effective maintenance, management and operation of all assets which includes 7,500 km of track & civil, signalling & communications and structural assets from Kalgoorlie in Western Australia to Broken Hill, Adelaide, Melbourne, Sydney and Brisbane.

He is a strong advocate of the engineering profession, passionate about workplace health and safety and promoter of International Asset Management practices.

Brian is a Fellow Chartered Engineering Executive with Engineers Australia, a Chartered Member of the Institution of Engineering & Technology and International Professional Registrations Advisor.

In 2013 he was awarded Engineers Australia, National Professional Electrical Engineer of the Year. Brian and his wife Donna have a blended family of two daughters and a son.

He is an active member of the IET and is a keen Red Bull Supercar member, AFL Hawthorn and A League, Adelaide United supporter.
