Richard is a Senior Research and Development Engineer at Ampcontriol. He has been involved in product development and application support for over 43 years.
He has undertaken a wide range of product design, including most forms of mining protection relays, 415 V and 1000 V soft starters for mining conveyors, DC traction systems for rail and tram networks and high current water cooled thyristor rectifiers rated at up to 70,000 A DC. Richard has considerable experience in the power quality arena, where he has designed and developed harmonic filters and capacitor banks for MV systems for 25 years. Richard’s focus now is on electrical protection in mines.
