TASMANIA

Sarah Lyden

MIEAust CPEng

Sarah is a Senior Lecturer in Electrical Power Engineering with the School of Engineering at UTAS.  Originally studying mechatronics engineering, Sarah’s interest in the renewable and sustainable energy space prompted her to move into electrical power for her PhD.  During her PhD studies, Sarah explored the impact of shading on Photovoltaic (Solar) cells and designed approaches to maximise the power captured under complex shading conditions.  She has a strong interest in sustainability and has been teaching the Engineers Without Borders (EWB) challenge, a year 1 engineering challenge which focuses on humanitarian engineering, to students at UTAS since 2018.
