Dr Ali Tolooiyan is a senior lecturer in civil engineering at the University of Tasmania, Australia. He has an established reputation in geotechnical engineering and is particularly well known for his contributions to computational geotechnics and the constitutive behaviour of geomaterials, especially in the field of slope stability and foundation systems. Being a chartered professional engineer of Engineers Australia and Engineers Ireland, he serves as a member of the Tasmanian Division Committee of Engineers Australia, and the Chair of the Tasmania Chapter of the Australian Geomechanics Society (AGS).
